Getting paid

Bulimba Women's Division Umpire Payments

We are able to pay our Umpires because all playing members are charged an Umpire Levy as part of their Club fees.

 Payments @ 2024:

  • $30 / game for Senior Turf, Junior Turf, and Masters Games
  • $25 / game for Junior Grass Games
  • $30 / game for Mentors

These payments are either deducted from unpaid fees or in paid in full via monthly direct payment by the Treasurer (please fill in a HOBBY LETTER and submit this form with your Bank details to the Treasurer). This form can be downloaded from  our club website in the Umpire's Corner.

Extra money can also be earned if you are an Accredited/Badged Umpire with BWHA.

  • For example, someone with a Level 1 qualification would receive $30 from the Bulls and $25 from BWHA... not a bad way to earn some pocket money to pay off your fees $55 / game?

Bulimba Men's Division Umpiring Payments

Currently, payments are only made by BHA to endorsed umpires.

BHL1 - $75 per game

BHL2 - $45 per game

BHL3 - 7; MHL; junior turf & U12:  $30 per game.

We have no club payment as this time since the mens' divisions are not charged an umpiring levy on their fees.  We hope to introduces this in the coming season/s.

Men and Women can umpire in either Association however, they must first be certified by the Development Officer or appointed senior umpire.  This just means they watch you umpire a game and agree upon the level at which you can be appointed to umpire.

You will find more umpiring resources on our Bulimba Hockey Club website.
